SKD / CKD meter assembly supply

For meter factories and local assembly partners worldwide, the kit is only one part of the programme. Define the assembly boundary, test process and transfer of responsibilities before selecting SKD or CKD.

Discuss your project

Define exactly what arrives in the kit

Agree a version-controlled bill of materials, pre-assembled subassemblies, firmware loading, seals, labels and packaging. SKD and CKD labels do not by themselves specify the level of local assembly or local content.

Plan the production and test process

  • Incoming inspection, assembly instructions and traceability.
  • Required fixtures, calibration equipment and end-of-line tests.
  • Key provisioning, firmware control and security responsibilities.
  • Training scope, pilot batch and acceptance of the local process.

Agree quality and regulatory responsibilities

Local assembly may affect product approvals, marking, import classification and warranty responsibilities. Confirm these with the relevant authorities and advisers for the destination. Document who releases each batch and handles rework or field failures.

Start with an assembly readiness review

Share the country, product family, expected volumes, existing equipment, workforce capability and target localisation stages. We can then discuss a feasible kit boundary and support scope, subject to technical and commercial agreement.
